Lahontan Valley News (full masthead: Lahontan Valley News & Fallon Eagle Standard) is a newspaper covering Fallon and Churchill County, Nevada, as well as Lyon County and Fernley. It is operated by Nevada News Group, a division of Eagle Valley Publishing.

History

Founded in 1903 by Burt Hanson. David and Ludi Henley owned the paper from 1977 until selling it to Swift Newspapers in 2003. Pacific Publishing Company later owned the title, operating it under Nevada News Group. On Jan. 3, 2025, Eagle Valley Publishing, founded in Carson City in 2023 by Adam Trumble, acquired the Lahontan Valley News along with the Nevada Appeal, The Record-Courier and Northern Nevada Business Weekly from Pacific Publishing.

Notable works

Honored by the Nevada Press Association and the National Newspaper Association; Nevada News Group's publications collectively won more than 60 awards in the 2024 Nevada Press Association contest.
