Use of DataKOASAS (KAIST Open Access Self-Archiving System) is the institutional repository of KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology), operated by the Academic Information Development Team of the KAIST library. It provides open access to the research output of KAIST faculty and students, including theses, dissertations, journal articles, and conference papers.
In 2007, KAIST became the first Korean university to adopt the DSpace repository platform, customising it to meet the specific needs of the institution. The system was designed to establish an open-access institutional repository that would disseminate KAIST's research outputs and enhance the university's international research profile. KAIST itself was established by the Korean government in 1971 as the nation's first public, research-oriented science and engineering university and is located in Daedeok Innopolis, Daejeon.
KOASAS holds theses and dissertations from KAIST graduates, as well as faculty research publications across KAIST's fields: science, engineering, information technology, biotechnology, management, and interdisciplinary research. The system enables authors to self-archive their works, increasing citation visibility and dissemination of KAIST research internationally.
The repository is freely accessible online. Registered KAIST members may deposit their research outputs according to KAIST's open access self-archiving policy. Content is searchable by keyword, author, and subject category.
