Biography

Julie Heskett is a broadcast media finance executive who has spent more than 25 years within the Gannett and TEGNA television group. She joined KSDK-TV, the companies' NBC affiliate in St. Louis, in 1998 as accounting manager, and was promoted to business manager in 2000 before moving into corporate finance roles at Gannett Broadcasting. She was named vice president of finance in 2007 and senior vice president of finance and technology in 2013, a role she held through TEGNA's 2015 spin-off from Gannett's publishing operations. In that position, Heskett partnered with the president of the broadcast division on financial reporting, analysis, and operational accountability, and was named the company's Corporate Staffer of the Year in 2014. She subsequently served as senior vice president for financial planning and business operations and head of investor relations before being named senior vice president and chief financial officer of TEGNA, where she oversees accounting, internal audit, financial strategy and planning, corporate treasury, investor relations, and tax, and has led the transformation of TEGNA's finance organization through shared service centers and regional finance teams. Heskett holds a bachelor of science degree in marketing and business management, earned cum laude, from Maryville University, and completed Gannett's twelve-month Broadcasting Management Program.
