Biography

John Fleming is executive editor at the Center for Sustainable Journalism at Kennesaw State University, which publishes Youth Today and the Juvenile Justice Information Exchange (JJIE). He has worked as a correspondent in Africa for several news agencies including Reuters, and most recently before joining the Center was editorial page editor and later editor at large at The Anniston Star in Alabama. He is a co-founder of the Civil Rights Cold Case Project, which investigates unsolved killings from the civil rights era. Fleming began as interim editor of JJIE.org before moving into the permanent editor role, and later took on editorial leadership of Youth Today as well after the two publications combined operations in 2012.
