Biography

Jody Jalbert was publisher of the Sun Journal in Lewiston, Maine, and its sister Western Maine Weekly newspapers from May 2022 until her resignation in February 2025. She began her career at the paper in May 1988 as a part-time classified advertising clerk, and rose over 36 years through positions including classified sales assistant, advertising director, vice president of sales (2018), vice president and general manager of Sun Media Group (2019), and publisher (2022). During her tenure, the newspaper was sold to the National Trust for Local News in 2022, later reorganized as the Maine Trust for Local News. Her last day at the paper was February 21, 2025.
