The Inter-Archive Search Portal (Ukrainian: Міжархівний пошуковий портал) is an online digital resource operated by the State Archival Service of Ukraine (Ukrderzharkhiv). Launched in a pilot version on May 11, 2022, it provides a single unified access window to digitized archival documents held across multiple Ukrainian state archives, available around the clock at searcharchives.net.ua.
The portal was developed and launched during the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine as part of ongoing efforts by the State Archival Service of Ukraine to increase access to national archival holdings and protect documentary heritage. The pilot version launched in May 2022 with approximately 1.5 million scanned copies of documents from three central state archives: the Central State Archives of Supreme Bodies of Power and Government of Ukraine, the Central State Archives of Public Organizations of Ukraine, and the Central State Archives Museum of Literature and Art of Ukraine. The portal grew significantly, and by 2022 provided access to over 10 million scanned archival documents.
The portal aggregates digitized archival resources from multiple Ukrainian central and regional archives into a single searchable interface. Holdings include historical documents relating to Ukrainian governmental bodies, public organizations, literary and artistic heritage, and other archival materials. The State Archival Service of Ukraine has continued to expand the portal's coverage, with plans to add all central and regional archives as conditions permit.
The portal was created in part to safeguard access to Ukraine's documentary heritage amid ongoing conflict, which has threatened and damaged archives across the country. It represents a significant step in Ukraine's efforts to digitize and provide open online access to archival collections, reversing a prior period in which Ukrainian archives were among the least accessible in Europe.
The portal is freely accessible online at searcharchives.net.ua and provides full-text search capabilities across its digitized collections. The State Archival Service of Ukraine manages and updates the portal.
