Use of DataThe Instituto Nacional de Tecnología Agropecuaria (INTA) is Argentina's federal agricultural research and extension agency, established on December 4, 1956, by Decree-Law 21.680/56. Created during an economic crisis in which over 95% of Argentina's exports came from agriculture, INTA was conceived following recommendations by economist Raúl Prebisch and a joint United Nations/Argentine Government commission. The institute conducts research in all areas of agricultural science and operates 15 Regional Centers, six Research Centers, 53 experimental stations, and more than 300 extension units across Argentina's five ecoregions.
INTA Digital (Repositorio Institucional–Biblioteca Digital) was established in accordance with Argentina's National Law No. 26,899 on the Creation of Open Access Institutional Digital Repositories. Its mission is to provide free, public, open access to INTA's scientific and technological production, agricultural extension materials, and knowledge transfer products generated by researchers, professionals, technicians, and agents of the institute. The repository is accessible at repositorio.inta.gob.ar.
INTA Digital holds a wide range of document types including journal articles, books, book chapters, theses, technical reports, conference papers, images, working papers, software, and applications. Content is organized into communities corresponding to INTA's organizational structure: Research Centers and Institutes, Regional Centers and Experimental Stations, National Coordinations, and National Directorates. The repository complies with the standards of Argentina's National System of Digital Repositories (SNRD).
The repository applies international standards and protocols for national and international interoperability. Content is available in Spanish and English. Data and metadata can be harvested via OAI-PMH. All materials are freely accessible to the agricultural research community and the general public worldwide.
