Robert A. Iger is a media executive who led The Walt Disney Company as chief executive officer across two tenures, first from 2005 to 2020 and again from November 2022 to March 2026, when he was succeeded by Josh D'Amaro. He also served as Disney's chairman from 2012 to 2020 and as executive chairman through 2021. Before Disney, Iger was president of ABC Television from 1994 to 1995 and president and chief operating officer of Capital Cities/ABC from 1995 until Disney's acquisition of the company in 1996; he then became chairman of the Disney-owned ABC Group, overseeing its broadcast network, station group, cable properties, and radio and publishing businesses. As Disney CEO, he led the acquisitions of Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm and 21st Century Fox and the 2019 launch of Disney+. He is the author of the New York Times bestseller The Ride of a Lifetime: Lessons Learned from 15 Years as CEO of The Walt Disney Company (2019). Following his departure as CEO in March 2026, Iger remains a member of Disney's board of directors and is serving as senior advisor through the end of 2026.
