The HSGME/EAGME Projects & Studies Repository is the digital repository of geological studies, research projects, and scientific publications maintained by the Hellenic Survey of Geology and Mineral Exploration (HSGME; Greek: Ελληνική Αρχή Γεωλογικών & Μεταλλευτικών Ερευνών, ΕΑΓΜΕ). It forms part of the institution's broader Data Geoportal, providing open access to geoscience data, maps, and research outputs accumulated over the institution's century of operation.
The Hellenic Survey of Geology and Mineral Exploration (HSGME, also known by its Greek acronym EAGME) is the National Geological Institute of Greece, operating since 1952. It is a legal entity governed by public law under the supervision of the Minister of Environment and Energy. In 2019, Law 4602 formally restructured the institution under its current name and form. HSGME serves as the official government advisor on geoscientific issues, mapping Greece's geological structure, researching mineral raw materials, and advising on environmental, geotechnical, and geothermal issues.
The Projects & Studies Repository is hosted within the HSGME Data Geoportal (eagme.gr/site/services) and provides access to project reports, geological studies, hydrogeological research, mining evaluations, and other geoscience outputs produced by HSGME and predecessor organizations. The institution's library—among the largest specialized science libraries in Greece—holds over 150,000 titles and the repository complements this physical collection with a growing digital archive.
Holdings include 260 published study titles covering ore deposit geology, hydrogeology, geophysics, geochemistry, mineral raw material evaluations, and techno-economic studies. The library also holds 706 journal titles and 5,000 maps including unique geological maps of Greece. The repository participates in the European Geological Data Infrastructure (EGDI) and EMODnet.
