Howard D. Elias is chair of the board of TEGNA, Inc., a broadcast and digital media company, a position he has held since April 2018. He recently retired from his role as president of Services and Digital at Dell Technologies, which he held since September 2016, overseeing global support, deployment, consulting, education, and managed services, the IT organization, and Virtustream. He joined EMC Corporation in 2003 from Hewlett-Packard, where he had been senior vice president of Business Management and Operations for the Enterprise Systems Group, and held a series of senior EMC roles including executive vice president of Global Marketing and Corporate Development, president of EMC Global Services and Resource Management Software Group, and president and chief operating officer of both EMC Information Infrastructure and Cloud Services and EMC Global Enterprise Services. From October 2015 through September 2016, Elias led EMC's integration planning for its merger with Dell, the largest technology merger in history, and continued co-leading the Value Creation and Integration Office afterward. He was a co-founder and board member of the Virtual Computing Environment (VCE) Company, now part of Dell Technologies. Elias studied computer science at Lawrence Technological University and electrical engineering at Wayne State University, and in 2024 was appointed senior advisor at Bridge Growth Partners, a technology investment firm.
