Use of DataThe HANYANG Repository is the institutional open-access repository of Hanyang University (한양대학교), one of South Korea's leading private research universities. It is hosted using the DSpace platform and serves as the primary digital archive for the university's scholarly output.
The repository was established and registered in April 2016, serving both of Hanyang University's main campuses: the Seoul campus and the ERICA campus in Ansan, Gyeonggi-do. It was built as part of South Korea's OAK (Open Access Korea) project, a national initiative by the National Library of Korea to promote open access among academic institutions.
The HANYANG Repository collects, preserves, and provides open access to the university's research output, including peer-reviewed articles, theses, dissertations, conference papers, and working papers. Collections are organized by college and department, covering disciplines ranging from engineering, medicine, and natural sciences to humanities, social sciences, and the arts. The repository is OAI-PMH compliant, enabling metadata harvesting by international aggregators.
Hanyang University was founded in 1939 as Dong-A Engineering Institute and became the country's first private college to offer engineering and architecture programs. As of 2025, it consistently ranks among the top engineering universities in South Korea and in the QS World University Rankings. The university maintains campuses in Seoul (Seongdong-gu) and Ansan (ERICA campus).
The repository is freely accessible online at repository.hanyang.ac.kr. Materials are protected by copyright unless otherwise indicated.
