Degrees offered

The school offers undergraduate and graduate degrees covering digital media, broadcast news, sports reporting, social media, public relations, and advertising, with undergraduate concentrations available.

Programs and emphasis

The school is home to three professional media operations: 91.5 KUNV Radio, a jazz-format public radio station; UNLV-TV, a video production service employing about 25 student staff; and the Rebel Media Group, a student-run digital and social media agency. It also houses the Nevada Newspaper Hall of Fame. The school is part of the Greenspun College of Urban Affairs.

History

The school is named for Hank Greenspun, founder of the Las Vegas Sun Daily, who began his newspaper career as a Bronx paperboy and later started a cable network and two broadcast stations in Las Vegas before his death in 1989.
