Godi Media is a partly Hindi phrase that roughly translates to Lapdog Media. It refers to any news organization’s output that is partisan, biased, and sensationalistic, or a mouthpiece of Narendi Modi’s party. Coined by journalist Ravish Kumar, Godi Media is a pun on Prime Minister Modi’s name. It has grown to mean any news story or broadcast that acts as a government mouthpiece outside of India.
