GISTDA Open Data is the open geospatial data portal of the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA), Thailand's national space agency. The portal provides free public access to satellite imagery, maps, and geospatial datasets produced or aggregated by GISTDA for use by government agencies, researchers, and the general public.
GISTDA was established on 3 November 2000, consolidating Thailand's satellite remote sensing capabilities, which date back to the country's participation in NASA's ERTS-1 programme in 1971 and the establishment of the Thailand Remote Sensing Center in 1979. The open data portal was developed as part of GISTDA's mandate to disseminate geospatial knowledge as a public benefit and to promote the utilization of space technology data across Thailand.
The portal offers a range of datasets derived from Earth observation satellites, including imagery from THEOS and THEOS-2, land use and land cover maps, natural disaster monitoring data, and other geospatial products relevant to Thailand's development priorities. Datasets are provided in standard formats suitable for download and integration into GIS workflows.
The portal is freely accessible at opendata.gistda.or.th in both Thai and English. Data are available for download under open licensing terms, supporting government transparency and academic research.
