Fargo, North Dakota, USA
Flag Family Media is a Fargo, North Dakota-based radio broadcasting company, a division of Bakken Beacon Media LLC, operating talk-radio stations across North Dakota and Minnesota.
Flag Family Media owns and operates WZFG "The Flag" (AM 1100/FM 92.3) in Fargo and KTGO "The Flag" (AM 1090/FM 92.7) in Tioga. In November 2020, the company entered a local marketing agreement with Forum Communications Company to operate WDAY (970 AM), North Dakota's oldest radio station, dating to 1922; Flag Family Media completed its purchase of WDAY and its FM translator for $600,000 in early 2025 following FCC approval. In 2021, the company acquired three stations in Grand Rapids, Minnesota (KOZY, KMFY and KBAJ), operating them under a new entity, Rapids Radio LLC. In 2022, Flag Family Media made its first non-radio acquisition, purchasing The McKenzie County Farmer newspaper in Watford City, North Dakota, a weekly serving the area since 1908.
WDAY, retained under Flag Family Media ownership, continues broadcasting under its heritage call letters, now marketed as "WDAY Radio" to distinguish it from the separately owned WDAY-TV.
