Biography

Brian Fantl is chief operating officer and senior vice president of the Albuquerque Journal, New Mexico's largest daily newspaper, published by Albuquerque Publishing Co. He has held general manager and executive roles at the paper for more than two decades, overseeing circulation, production and business operations. In 2009, as general manager, he announced the end of home delivery and rack sales in more than 30 New Mexico communities amid declining advertising revenue during the economic downturn. In 2016, he oversaw newsroom and non-newsroom staff reductions at the paper, including circulation and advertising positions affected by new distribution technology. He also serves as vice president of the Journal's affiliated production facility, the Studios at Journal Center, a qualified film and television production facility in Albuquerque.
