Use of DataThe Egyptian National Agricultural Library (ENAL) is a specialized national library affiliated with the Agricultural Research Center of Egypt, located in the Dokki district of Giza. It serves as the primary national resource for agricultural scientific information in Egypt and provides services to researchers, academics, and agricultural professionals.
ENAL officially opened in September 1996. It occupies the first two floors of the Land Improvement Building in Dokki, Giza, covering approximately 6,200 square meters and providing seating for nearly 300 readers. In 1995, prior to its official opening, ENAL collaborated with the United States National Agricultural Library (NAL) to produce a CD-ROM edition of Nicoll's Birds of Egypt (1930) through NAL's National Agricultural Text Digitizing Program.
The library collects, organizes, stores, and makes available Egyptian intellectual production in agricultural and related sciences. Its holdings include scientific journals, research reports, international databases, and reference materials. An annexed depository holds older and less frequently used materials. ENAL offers reading areas, document delivery services, and training programs. It has a collection of approximately 23,000 volumes according to library technology directories, though its active catalog reflects ongoing acquisitions.
The library is located at 7 Nadi El Sayed Street, Dokki, Giza, and can be contacted by phone and email. Its online catalog is accessible at nile.enal.sci.eg.
