Emilie Eaton is an investigative reporter based in San Antonio, Texas. Her work has been published by USA Today, NBC News, the San Antonio Express-News, the Houston Chronicle, the Arizona Republic, and the Sacramento Bee, among other outlets. At the San Antonio Express-News, she covered police misconduct, capital punishment, domestic violence, drunk driving, and addiction; a 2021 investigation she led was followed by a county decision to spend $3.3 million to hire additional prosecutors, investigators, and victim advocates and create two temporary courts to address a backlog in domestic violence cases. She previously worked at the Cincinnati Enquirer, covering child poverty, business, and breaking news. Eaton graduated magna cum laude from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications at Arizona State University. She has helped lead the San Antonio Association of Hispanic Journalists' Teen Team program for local high school students.
