The DeWitt Wallace Center for Media & Democracy was founded in 1973 as part of the Sanford School of Public Policy. It is housed at Duke University. They focus on teaching about the role of media in a democracy. Watchdog and accountability reporting around the world is an important aspect of the center. The faculty conducts independent and collaborative research projects.
