The Donald J. Trump Presidential Library is the fifteenth presidential library established and administered by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). It preserves and provides access to the official records, documents, and artifacts from the administration of Donald J. Trump, who served as the 45th President of the United States from January 20, 2017, to January 20, 2021. The library currently operates primarily as a digital and records-access facility; a physical library building has not yet been constructed.
NARA launched the Donald J. Trump Presidential Library website on January 20, 2021, the day President Trump left office, as required under the Presidential Records Act of 1978. Under that Act, all records created or received by the President in the exercise of his constitutional, statutory, or ceremonial duties are the property of the United States government and transfer to NARA at the end of the administration. NARA received approximately 80 million pages of textual records, along with electronic records, artifacts, and other materials from the Trump administration. Records were closed to the public for five years and began opening to researchers in January 2026. In September 2025, it was announced that the physical presidential library and museum would be constructed at Miami Dade College's Wolfson Campus in Downtown Miami, Florida.
The library's holdings include textual documents from the Oval Office and West Wing, photographs, social media archives (including the @POTUS and @FLOTUS accounts), archived White House websites, Calligraphy Office materials (White House holiday party booklets, state dinner menus, greeting cards for heads of state), Air Force One travel maps, and three-dimensional artifacts and gifts presented to the President. Electronic records, including emails and digital files, are also preserved.
Archived White House social media accounts and press communications constitute a significant portion of the digital holdings, documenting the administration's extensive use of Twitter and other platforms as primary channels of public communication. The archived White House website and press briefing records are publicly accessible via the library's online portal.
The library operates through NARA facilities in the National Capital Region. The website provides information on archived White House websites and social media. Research access to records is available through FOIA requests and standard NARA channels. The email address trump.library@nara.gov handles research inquiries.
