History and Founding

The Diponegoro University Institutional Repository (UNDIP-IR) was established on 25 April 2009 and is managed by the Diponegoro University Library (Perpustakaan Universitas Diponegoro). The repository is powered by EPrints software and serves as the institutional open-access digital archive of Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP), a public university in Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia. UNDIP itself was founded in 1957 as a private institution and became a state university in 1960, named after the Javanese prince Diponegoro; it is the oldest educational institution in Central Java. The university library traces its origins to 1960 and moved to its current purpose-built facility in the Widya Puraya building at the Tembalang campus in 1997.

Collections and Holdings

UNDIP-IR centralises, collects, preserves, and disseminates the scholarly and research output of the Diponegoro University community under an open-access model. Holdings include theses, dissertations, journal articles, conference papers, and other academic publications produced by UNDIP faculty, researchers, and students. The repository covers a wide range of disciplines reflecting UNDIP's eleven faculties and two schools, with technical sciences predominating. The repository is registered with the Registry of Open Access Repositories (ROAR) and supports OAI-PMH harvesting.

Access and Usage

UNDIP-IR is freely accessible online and supports full-text search. Metadata and content are harvestable through the OAI-PMH interface. The repository aims to comply with open access principles, making UNDIP's intellectual output discoverable to researchers worldwide. A second repository instance (eprints2.undip.ac.id) also hosts UNDIP research and scientific digital documents.
