Use of DataDeutsche Welle, or DW, launched in 1953, is a broadcast agency based in Bonn, that is owned by the Federal Government of Germany, funded by German taxes. A member of the European Broadcasting Union, it operates Independent of government influence. DW broadcasts channels in German, English, French, Arabic, Spanish, and Persian.
