DergiPark is a national academic journals hosting and management platform operated by TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM (Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey, Turkish Academic Network and Information Center). The platform provides Turkish academic journals with online hosting services, an editorial workflow management system, and a DOI assignment service, supporting the visibility and quality of Turkish scholarly publishing in line with international standards.
DergiPark is not an indexing system comparable to TR Index, Scopus, or Web of Science; rather, it provides the technical infrastructure for journals to manage their own publishing processes. The platform hosts journals covering the full range of academic disciplines and supports journals published in Turkish, English, and other languages. All services offered by DergiPark are free of charge to participating journals, which sign a Participation Contract to formalise their membership. As of the platform's reporting, over 2,600 journals use the DergiPark system, with hundreds eligible for DOI assignment.
DergiPark was originally built on Open Journal Systems (OJS) but migrated to ULAKBİM Journal Systems (UJS), a new system developed in-house, as of 2017 to address scalability and usability needs. The platform manages the complete publishing workflow, from manuscript submission through peer review to final publication. A Journal Wizard feature assists authors in identifying appropriate journals for their submissions.
The platform hosts a broad range of Turkish academic journals in the social sciences, including journals focused on communication, media studies, journalism history, and press freedom, making it a significant resource for researchers studying Turkish and Ottoman-era media.
