Newsjunkie.net is a resource guide for journalists. We show who's behind the news, and provide tools to help navigate the modern business of information.
Use of DataFounded in 1999, it advocates for ethical and thorough reporting of trauma, as well as compassionate treatment of victims and survivors by journalists. The center also aims to increase awareness among media organizations about the impact of trauma coverage on both news professionals and consumers. It provides education on the science and psychology of trauma to journalists and journalism students, and serves as a professional forum for analyzing issues and advancing strategies related to reporting on violence and tragedy. Although it is not a non-profit organization, it is owned by Columbia University.
