Biography

Dainik Asam (Assamese: দৈনিক অসম, "The Daily Assam"; also transliterated Dainik Asom) is one of the oldest continuously published Assamese-language daily newspapers in India. It was first published on August 4, 1965, an outcome of the efforts of Radha Govinda Baruah, founder of the Assam Tribune Group, which publishes the paper from Guwahati and Dibrugarh, Assam. An internet edition launched on January 1, 2012. In 2025, the Assamese weekly Asom Bani, also published by the Assam Tribune Group, merged with Dainik Asam as a Friday supplement before its subsequent closure.
