The Daily Yonder is a national nonprofit news platform covering rural America, publishing original reporting, commentary and data-driven analysis on rural economics, politics and culture.
The Daily Yonder was launched in 2007 by the nonprofit Center for Rural Strategies, founded by journalists Bill Bishop and Julie Ardery, ahead of a presidential election year when the founders felt rural America was at risk of being overlooked in national coverage. It is based in Whitesburg, Kentucky, with editorial staff also based in Knoxville, Tennessee.
The Daily Yonder produces Yonder Radio, a weekly newscast broadcast on hundreds of radio stations across rural America and distributed via podcast platforms, and reaches more than a million readers annually through original reporting and partnerships with other news organizations.
