Woodland, California (print/digital)
The Daily Democrat is the daily newspaper of Woodland, California, and the oldest continuously published newspaper in Yolo County.
Its roots trace to the weekly Yolo County Democrat, founded in Cacheville in 1857 by William L. Jernegan and M.E. Everts. After several name changes and ownership transfers, the paper was renamed the Woodland Daily Democrat on June 1, 1877. Edward E. Leake purchased the paper in 1891, and the Leake family owned and operated it for 92 years until selling to the Donrey Media Group in 1984. Donrey ceded control to the California Newspapers Partnership in 1999.
The paper covers Woodland and Yolo County local government, agriculture, and community news.
The Daily Democrat is available in print and online through its digital subscription platform.
