Culver, Indiana (print)
The Culver Citizen is a weekly newspaper serving Culver, Indiana, and the surrounding Lake Maxinkuckee area, published by The Pilot News Group as one of its sister papers.
The paper's roots trace to July 13, 1894, when George Nearpass published the first issue under the name The Marmont Herald, when the town of Culver was still called Marmont. The paper has operated under various names and owners over the decades, including a period as The Culver Citizen Corporation under Thomas and Bernadette Zoss beginning in 1973. It is now published by The Pilot News Group of Plymouth, Indiana, delivered each Thursday alongside sister papers Heartland News and The Leader.
The paper covers Culver town government, schools, and community news. The Antiquarian and Historical Society of Culver maintains a digitized archive of Culver Citizen issues dating back to the paper's early 20th-century history, made available with permission from the Pilot News Group.
The paper is distributed in print each Thursday; historical issues are searchable through the Culver Historical Society's online archive.
