The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) was established by Executive Order No. 30 in 1966 by President Ferdinand Marcos and opened in 1969. Its Library and Archives was formally established in 1972, functioning as the national repository of Filipiniana and foreign books and non-book materials on arts and culture, history, and the humanities. The CCP Collections online catalogue was developed as part of the institution's digital outreach mission to make its holdings searchable and accessible to users worldwide.
The CCP Collections online catalogue provides access to thousands of works produced by the CCP since its opening in 1969, comprising videos, photographs, publications, and documents. The physical library and archives hold art books, film and theater photographs and scripts, manuscripts, audio and video tapes, memorabilia, musical compositions by Filipino and foreign composers, and video documentation of Filipino customs and traditions. Users can search the catalogue, view exhibitions, and request access to materials.
The collections include extensive documentation of Philippine performing arts, film history, and cultural production. Among the notable published materials are the CCP's own serial publications: Lahi (a semi-annual literary journal), Pamana (a monthly cultural magazine), Gantimpala (a book on theater plays), and the ten-volume Union Catalog on Philippine Culture covering architecture, dance, film, literature, music, theater, and visual arts. Clippings, posters, and ephemeral materials related to the Philippine performing arts press are also preserved.
The CCP Collections online catalogue is freely accessible at collections.culturalcenter.gov.ph. Physical access to the library and archives is available at the CCP Complex in Pasay City, Metro Manila. Research and reference services are provided to artists, students, professionals, and the general public.
