The Connecticut Mirror (CT Mirror) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, online-only news organization based in Hartford, Connecticut, covering public policy, government and politics statewide. It is the sole subsidiary of the nonprofit Connecticut News Project, Inc.
In 2009, a group of Connecticut residents concerned about the decline of state Capitol coverage in legacy media formed the Connecticut News Project, Inc. CT Mirror launched January 25, 2010, with a founding staff of four: a publisher, an editor and two reporters, including Capitol Bureau Chief Mark Pazniokas. As of January 1, 2024, CT Mirror employed 21 full-time staff, including 17 journalists. In May 2026, CT Mirror won its first Pulitzer Prize, sharing the Pulitzer Prize for Local Reporting with ProPublica for "On the Hook," an investigation into predatory towing industry practices that led to an overhaul of Connecticut towing laws.
