Council on Criminal Justice (CCJ)

Nonpartisan think tank and invitational membership organization that advances understanding of criminal justice policy choices and builds consensus for solutions that enhance safety and justice for all.

The CCJ conducts original research, aiming to “build consensus” for what it sees as criminal justice policy built on evidence and “fundamental principles of justice.” It’s membership includes many former career politicians from both parties and corporate executives, along with criminal justice experts and people who have direct experience with the system.

Of note: The CCJ provides analyses of crime stats for cities where Donald Trump has deployed the National Guard, as well as breakdowns of DOJ data interference.
