Coronado, California (print/digital)
The Coronado Eagle & Journal is a weekly newspaper serving Coronado, California, tracing its title history back to 1912.
The paper's lineage traces to the Coronado Strand, begun in 1912, and later titles including the Coronado Citizen, Coronado Compass, and Coronado Journal. In 1990, Dean and Nancy Eckenroth established the modern Coronado Eagle, publishing twice monthly from an office at 1022 C Avenue. In 1998, Eagle Newspapers acquired the rival Coronado Journal, and the two merged to form the Coronado Eagle & Journal.
The paper covers Coronado city government, military affairs related to Naval Air Station North Island, and community news. The Coronado Public Library has digitized the town's newspapers from 1887 through 2018 in partnership with the California Digital Newspaper Collection.
The paper is available online at coronadonewsca.com.
