CONICET Digital is the institutional repository of CONICET (Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas), Argentina's principal government agency for the promotion of science and technology. Operating as a free-access platform, it serves as the official channel for disseminating the full text of scientific and technological outputs produced by CONICET investigators, fellows, and staff nationwide.
The repository was developed in alignment with Argentina's Open Access Law (Law 26.899 of 2013), which mandates open access to publicly funded research. CONICET Digital has expanded steadily since its creation, reaching a milestone in 2022 when it completed deposit of all articles by CONICET authors self-archived in SIGEVA between 2013 and 2021. A Federal Network of Repository Specialists across CONICET's regional centers supports curatorial work nationwide, with over 80 trained members processing research outputs.
The repository covers all scientific disciplines and topics of interest, including renewable energy, climate change, bioplastics, gender studies, social inclusion, paleontology, food security, and new technologies. Approximately 75% of deposited content is available in open access. Holdings include journal articles, book chapters, theses, conference papers, datasets, software, and multimedia resources. The collection is indexed by Google Scholar, BASE, CORE, OpenAire, WorldWideScience, Portal SNRD, and La Referencia.
All content is freely accessible at ri.conicet.gov.ar. For restricted or embargoed materials, users may request access from the author through the platform interface. CONICET researchers deposit content using institutional SIGEVA credentials. The platform uses DSpace software and supports OAI-PMH for metadata interoperability.
