History and Founding

The Bibliothèque nationale du Congo (National Library of the Republic of the Congo) is located in Brazzaville, capital of the Republic of the Congo. The library operates as part of the national cultural infrastructure alongside the Archives Nationales Congolaises and Marien Ngouabi University Library. Brazzaville also hosts the National Museum of the Congo (established 1965). The library is affiliated with the Francophonie network and has been documented in the Bibliothèques de la Francophonie registry maintained by Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec (BAnQ).

Collections and Holdings

The National Library of the Republic of the Congo holds collections relevant to Congolese history, culture, and national documentation.
