Staffordshire, England, United Kingdom
Concourse is the independent student newspaper of Keele University in Staffordshire, England, one of the longest-running student publications in the UK. It is editorially independent of both the university and the students' union, publishing monthly print issues alongside an updated website, and forms part of the university's student media alongside Kube Radio.
Concourse was first published in 1964. It lapsed at points over the following decades as successive students' union communications officers tried different in-house magazines, but was relaunched under its original name and masthead design in 2003-2004 by then-president Lauren Nash-Jennings, who found boxes of old 1960s and 1970s issues in the students' union office and decided to revive the title, winning a National Union of Students award for best student publication in the West Midlands that year. Concourse celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2014. It is run by a small editorial team who manage the website and print editions and no longer operates under the Keele University Students' Union.
