Earl Cokley is a media technology executive who serves as vice president of software development and operations at PBS. He holds a degree in computer and electrical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and completed the NAMIC Executive Leadership Development Program at the UCLA Anderson School of Management in 2007-2008. In October 2021, he was appointed head of technology for the Venetoulis Institute for Local Journalism, the Baltimore-based nonprofit that launched The Baltimore Banner, tasked with leading strategy for technology platforms and overseeing implementation of technology systems and processes; he brought experience from Scripps Networks Interactive, where he led software development, business intelligence and project management, and from TheStreet.com, where he led development of a subscription-based e-commerce platform. He has also held technology roles at Warner Media, Thomson Reuters and S&P Global Ratings.
