Sean Cohan is a media executive who has served as president of Bell Media, part of Canadian telecommunications company BCE Inc., since November 1, 2023, succeeding Wade Oosterman. Born October 3, 1974, in Brooklyn, New York, he is a graduate of Harvard University and holds an MBA from Stanford University. He held positions at A.T. Kearney, NBC, Morgan Stanley and Primedia before joining A+E Networks, where over roughly 15 years he rose from director of international business development to president of international and digital media, a role created for him in January 2016. Under his leadership, A+E Networks expanded its global footprint to more than 200 territories, launched dozens of international channels including global rollouts of Lifetime, A&E and Crime+Investigation, and oversaw digital properties including History.com and Biography.com. He left A+E Networks in late 2018 to become president of Wheelhouse Entertainment before joining Nielsen in 2020 as chief growth officer and president, where he helped the company recover from a period of declining value ahead of its 2022 sale for $16 billion. At Bell Media, he oversees a portfolio of television, streaming (Crave), radio and digital assets, including CTV. He serves on the boards of the Banff World Media Festival, The Opportunity Network and the Parrish Art Museum, and has been recognized by Savoy Magazine as one of the Most Influential Blacks in Corporate America and by Broadcasting and Cable with its 2016 Diversity Leadership Award.
