Civil Eats founded in 2009 is a nonprofit daily digital news website that focuses on sustainable agriculture within economical and socially just communities. Over 150 contributors report on issues surrounding food from government to farm to consumer. The James Beard Foundation named Civil Eats its Publication of the Year. CivilEats.com has been inducted into The Library of Congress. The International Association of Culinary Professionals awarded Civil Eats their 2020 IACP Digital Media Award for Best Group Food Blog, and in 2022, awarded the site their IACP Media Award for Best Newsletter (the Deep Dish).
