Cincinnati CityBeat is an independent alternative newsweekly covering arts, culture, restaurant reviews, and local news for the Cincinnati, Ohio area.
CityBeat was founded in November 1994, backed by local entrepreneur Thomas Schiff and co-founded by editor John Fox and Dan Bockrath, with its first issue appearing November 17, 1994. The paper was acquired by SouthComm Communications in 2012 and sold to Euclid Media Group in 2018. Euclid dissolved in August 2023, and CityBeat was sold to Chris Keating, operating as Big Lou Holdings LLC. On December 10, 2025, LINK Media acquired CityBeat from Big Lou Holdings.
CityBeat publishes local news, arts and culture coverage, restaurant reviews, and its long-running annual "Best of Cincinnati" issue, launched in 1997. The paper has won recognition including Best Weekly Paper in Ohio from the Society of Professional Journalists in 2005.
