The Chemainus Valley Courier is a community newspaper covering Chemainus and the surrounding area on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.
According to Better Business Bureau records, the business was started on January 5, 2005. Longtime editor Don Bodger, who had covered the region since 1980 (including earlier stints at the Cowichan Leader and Cowichan News Leader Pictorial), retired from the paper in March 2024. The Courier is part of Black Press Media, the British Columbia-based newspaper chain whose founder, David Black, announced his retirement around the same period, prompting a sale of the company.
The paper covers Chemainus and area local news, community events, sports, and obituaries, including coverage of local business, forestry, and municipal affairs in the Cowichan Valley Regional District.
