George Cheeks is chair of TV Media at Paramount, a Skydance Corporation, overseeing a range of broadcast, cable, and studio businesses including CBS-branded properties (the CBS Television Network, CBS News, CBS Television Stations, CBS Sports, CBS Media Ventures, and CBS Studios), BET Studios, Nickelodeon Animation Studios, See It Now Studios, and Paramount Media Networks, home to MTV, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, and BET. He joined CBS as president and CEO of CBS Entertainment Group in March 2020, succeeding Joe Ianniello, and in May 2024 was additionally named co-CEO of Paramount Global alongside Chris McCarthy and Brian Robbins following Bob Bakish's departure. Before joining CBS, Cheeks spent more than seven years at NBCUniversal in senior executive roles spanning creative, business, and operational functions, including co-chairman of NBC Entertainment and vice chairman of NBCUniversal Content Studios. He began his media career at Viacom in 1998 as senior counsel for MTV Networks' Nickelodeon Group, later serving as executive vice president of business affairs and general counsel for Viacom Music and Entertainment Groups and head of standards and practices for Viacom Media Networks. He graduated from Yale University in 1987.
