Central Maine Sunday

Central Maine Sunday is the shared weekend newspaper of the Kennebec Journal (Augusta) and the Morning Sentinel (Waterville), both part of the Maine Trust for Local News.

Central Maine Sunday and the combined website centralmaine.com were launched under managing editor Scott Monroe, who served as managing editor of the Sentinel and Kennebec Journal from 2013 to 2024 before becoming the Maine Trust for Local News' first managing editor. The Kennebec Journal and Morning Sentinel are among the daily newspapers acquired by the nonprofit National Trust for Local News in 2023, forming the Maine Trust for Local News.

Central Maine Sunday has been recognized at Maine Press Association awards ceremonies for weekend print newspaper coverage, and Kennebec Journal and Morning Sentinel journalists have jointly reported on projects such as the 2022 investigative series "Homeless in Maine."
