Who's behind the news?

The Center for Collaborative Investigative Journalism

Grand Rapids, Michigan

by Curtis D. Whiting

The Center for Collaborative Investigative Journalism, founded in 2019, is a nonprofit media organization and a member of the Institute for Nonprofit News. It is committed to reporting o undervalued communities. To that end, the center focuses on developing regional investigative journalism hubs. The first two of these hubs, in the United States and Southern Africa, provide training and mentorship to journalists and students, embedding them in global investigations. Through this network, their reporting reaches a wider audience.

More hubs are developing. Within this system of collaboration, they seek to hold the power to account and find solutions.
