The network founded in 2018 and operated by the Media Institute of the Caribbean, produces stories on issues of importance to the Caribbean. The network tackles such issues as climate change, human trafficking, transnational drug networks, and government corruption. Despite being a relatively new organization, the Caribbean Investigative Journalism Network has established itself as the region's premier journalism organization. It is also a member of the Institute for Nonprofit News.
