Biography

Calvin R. McDonald is a retail and consumer-goods executive who has served as a director on the board of The Walt Disney Company since May 2021. Born and raised in Canada, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Western Ontario and an MBA from the University of Toronto. He spent 17 years in senior roles at Loblaw Companies Limited, Canada's largest retailer, before serving as president and CEO of Sears Canada from 2011 to 2013, president and CEO of Sephora Americas (a division of LVMH) from 2013 to 2018, and CEO of lululemon athletica inc. from August 2018, during which the company more than tripled annual revenues and expanded to more than 30 geographies. He has since become CEO of The Wella Company, a global beauty company with a portfolio including Wella, Clairol, OPI and ghd. He also served on the board of directors of Cole Haan from 2016 to 2020, and is an endurance athlete who competes in Ironman-distance triathlons and marathons.
