Biography

Thomas William Dominic "Tom" Brown is a freelance investigative reporter based in New York who covers energy, environmental and human rights issues. His work has appeared in Al Jazeera, The Guardian, Science, Grist, New Lines Magazine, The Daily Telegraph, Bellingcat, the Houston Chronicle, The Examination, Public Health Watch and other outlets, and he has contributed to PBS's Frontline. His reporting has examined oil and gas flaring and its health effects in Nigeria, Iraq and Texas, hidden methane emissions from energy companies in Europe, uranium mining in Namibia, and biomass facility fires in California. He is a winner of the Covering Climate Now, Victor K. McElheny, SABEW (Society for Advancing Business Editing and Writing) and Fetisov journalism awards.
