Ownership

Published by Rankin Publishing, a family business founded by Don and Linda Rankin. The Rankins purchased the Arcola Record Herald newspaper and a small trade magazine for broom manufacturers in 1977, later expanding it into Broom Brush and Mop magazine. Rankin Publishing also publishes the trade magazines Maintenance Sales News, Busline, and Discover Central Illinois.

History

In 2000, Rankin Publishing narrowed its focus entirely to its trade magazines, discontinuing its general-circulation newspapers. Don Rankin died in 2019; the family business continues operating from Arcola.
