The Boğaziçi University Archives and Documentation Center (Boğaziçi Arşivleri) is the official institutional archive of Boğaziçi University, located on the university's historic Bebek campus in İstanbul, Türkiye. The center preserves the documentary heritage of one of Turkey's most prominent research universities, which traces its origins to Robert College, founded by American missionaries in 1863 and formally transformed into Boğaziçi University in 1971.

History and Founding

Robert College, the predecessor institution, was established in 1863 as the first American institution of higher education outside the United States. After the Turkish government acquired the institution, it became Boğaziçi University in 1971. The Archives and Documentation Center was established to preserve the rich institutional history spanning both periods, making it a repository for documents from over 150 years of continuous higher education on the same Bosphorus campus.
