Use of DataBlack Voice News founded in 1972 as a print-newspaper published by students at UC Riverside in California. Hardy Brown and Cheryl Brown purchased the paper in 1980, forming Brown Publishing Company, still based in Riverside, with Cheryl Brown as publisher. A website was created in 1999. In 2013, Paulette Brown-Hinds, PhD took over as publisher. By 2020, the paper stopped publication to focus on Black Voice News as a website.
