Lynne Benioff (née Krilich) is an independent marketing consultant and, with her husband Marc Benioff, co-owner of Time magazine, which the couple purchased for $190 million in September 2018 from Meredith Corporation. A graduate of the University of Washington, she was formerly director of public relations campaigns at OutCast Communications. She married Marc Benioff, co-founder and CEO of Salesforce, in Hawaii in 2006. In 2011 she co-founded Star Community Home, a short-term residential facility for homeless families in San Francisco. She serves on the boards of the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Foundation, UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals, Common Sense Media, and The Rise Fund, and in 2015 was appointed by President Barack Obama to the board of directors of the Presidio Trust. The Benioffs signed the Giving Pledge in 2016 and have appeared on the Chronicle of Philanthropy's “Philanthropy 50” list of top U.S. donors ten times since 2010, representing more than $1 billion in giving, with recent gifts supporting healthcare access in Hawaii, affordable housing, environmental conservation, and education.
